Dear neighbor,

 

My name is Kate Vannoy and I want to be your next school board director. I am a lifelong teacher, MPS graduate, parent, grandparent and taxpayer. Just like you, I want my grandchildren and all MPS students to receive the best education possible.

 

Because I’ve been teaching for 26 years and I have a Doctorate in Instructional Technology, I understand what works well. There are many ways we must do more to hold MPS administration accountable, increase student achievement and provide safe and healthy schools for all students. I’m ready to do what is necessary to simplify policies and procedures so that the referendum that just passed and the increase in funding that came with it is used wisely - in a way that prioritizes students over bureaucracy. With a long professional career in education and many years of advocating for student-centered priorities in the district, I feel uniquely qualified to lead MPS to a stronger place.
